Tekapo/Takapo Regional Park

With the approval of ECAN and the Regional Park Society, these trails were initiated by Tekapo Trails to create a switchback climbing trail to the highest point in the Regional Park. An outlook over Lake Tekapo and up to the southern alps is a wonderful reward. From the high point, there is a steep downhill. Also installed, is the creation by DirtTrail Builders of a purpose built, MTB downhill called the Milky Way. This continues onto another fun trail called Berm Rider, finally finishing at the Regional Park Entrance on Lilybank Rd. Tekapo Trails maintains the Throne Track, Lookout, Milky Way and Berm Rider trails.
